Adolescent Anger Management Assessment
Avenues' staff provides expert assessment to ensure that each patient receives the appropriate level of care to meet his/her individual needs. Assessment tools include bio psychosocial history, anger history, alcohol and other drug use history, urine drug screen, patient and family interview and administration of the State - Trait Anger Expression Inventory - 2 (STAXI - 2). A formal, written, assessment report will be provided if necessitated by a patient's individual circumstances.
Readiness for group treatment is determined at the intake interview/assessment process and includes:
Assuring that the patient recognizes his/her anger as a problem
Assuring that the patient is willing to put forth an effort to change
Assuring that the patient does not require a higher level of care
